When you explore the Courses section in Avidon, you may notice that some courses allow you to complete them from start to finish as quickly as you want (standard courses) while others are require some time to pass between sessions (calendar-based). Both types offer valuable guided learning experiences but they differ in how you progress through them.
Calendar-Based Courses
- Calendar-based courses unlock content based on a preset schedule.
- New content appears gradually: Lessons become available daily or weekly, depending on the course.
- Helps build consistent habits: Designed to space out learning to support behavior change.
- Videos cannot be skipped or sped through.
- Set reminders (optional): You can opt to receive emails or push notifications when new content is ready.
Tip: Check your progress: If future modules are “locked” until a certain date, you're in a calendar-based course.

Standard Courses
- Shorter in content than calendar-based courses, although they vary.
- Complete at your own pace: No schedule or delays—you can finish in a day or spread it out over weeks.
- Flexible start and stop: You can start, pause, and return at any time.
- Great for independent learning: Ideal if you prefer full control over your pace.
Before starting a course, make sure to check the duration and click into the course tile to read more about it. If the duration of the course is listed in minutes, it is a standard course.
